Janakpur Literature Festival from February 23

Janakpur, Feb 21 : The fourth edition of ‘Janakpur Literature Festival’ is scheduled for February 23.

Organising a press conference, the organiser, Nawa Mithila Foundation, announced that the fourth edition of the Janakpur Literature Festival would be held from February 23 to 25. 

The three-day literature festival is sponsored by Facts Nepal. Aditya Nepal, Vice President of Nawa Mithila Foundation, informed that 20 different open-air panel discussions on literature, music, cinema, culture, identity, society and politics would be held in the festival.

He said that students, politicians, artists, musicians, writers and literature lovers from all over Nepal will participate in the festival. The inaugural session of the festival will be held on February 23 on the Janaki Temple premises. 

According to the organisers, Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, the first president of Nepal, and Saroj Kumar Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhes Province will be the chief guests of the opening ceremony of the festival.

Similarly, Shishir Khanal, Member of Parliament, Anjan Shrestha, Vice President of Federation of Commerce and Industry, and Dr.  Vijay Kumar Singh (Danuwar) will also participat in the festival. 

The organiser said that the festival, which is going to be held with the aim of promoting the literary sector, will have the participation of famous authors from all over the country.

 According to the organisers, there will be over 20 sessions in the issues including ‘Inclusion: Concept and Practice’, ‘Politics: Campaign and Opportunity’, ‘Pradeep Dai (Pradip Giri) in Memory’, and sports that we lost. 

On the day of the opening ceremony, apart from distribution of ‘Amit Jha Sahitya Sangeet Award’, there will be an inter-school debate competition and a musical performance by Kutumba and MINAP.

Indian singer Maithili Thakur will also perform on the last day of the festival, informed the organiser.
