Inaruwa, Feb 21 :  Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Aman Lal Modi has said that cooperation and teamwork is essential for development.

While addressing the opening programme of the first ‘Inaruwa Festival and Film Festival’ which began on Sunday in Inaruwa, Minister Modi stressed the need of cooperation for the development in the fields of education, health, agriculture and entertainment.

The festival is organised by Federation of Nepal Film Artiste Association Province -1 in the support of

Inaruwa Municipality.

Modi has also said that according to the constitutional  provision, a protected and autonomous law will be introduced for the minority, marginalised and endangered communities.

Since the protection of minority, marginalised and endangered communities is a matter of special interest to the Prime Minister and the Maoist’s struggle, this arrangement was inserted  in the constitution,

he said.

“We try to implement the  laws to uplift the marginalised and endangered communities while we, the Maoists, are leading the government,” he added.

Minister Modi said that work was being done to establish the identity of the oppressed castes of the country while ensuring  development of the sectors like tourism, education

and health.

Minister Modi also said that since the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, which he is handling now, is responsible for the declaration of special areas, protected areas and autonomous areas, he will be responsible in bringing

the required laws.

Minister Modi said that it was necessary to struggle until the right

is obtained. The festival, which is being organised for the first time at Sunsari headquarters, Inaruwa, will last

till March 1. According to the organisers, 18 long and short films produced in Province-1 are scheduled to be screened

in the festival.

Likewise, 18 personalities who have made special contributions to the fields of education, health, sports, film, journalism and  who have kept the name of Inaruwa high will be honoured, said Arun Kumar Pradhan, President of the Federation of Nepal Film Artiste Association

Province -1.

“As this festival also aims to promote talents and encourage local production, baby fancy dress competition, literature conference, best vegetable producer competition, school level dance competition, bride beauty competition are also being organised,”

informed the organiser.

Kedar Bhandari, Mayor Inaruwa Municipality, expressed his confidence that the festival would contribute to the recognition of the municipality in the province and the country.
