‘Mobile cinema and literacy campaign’ held in 3 districts

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 7: The Film Development Board has conducted ‘Mobile cinema and literacy campaign’ in Ilam, Panchthar and Taplejung districts. The campaign that had begun on January 26 and concluded on February 1.

The campaign was conducted in the districts where there is no movie hall.

The campaign was held under the government's 'Cinema Literacy Programme’ which was approved for the current financial year 2079-80 by the government. 

The programme was attended by teachers, students and parents of local schools. 

The government plans to reach remote villages of all seven provinces  that are far from the reach of the theatres and stream the  films made in the national and local languages to develop the culture of watching films.

Under this campaign, Nepali films ‘Agni Dahan', 'Kri' and 'Captain'  were streamed in Sandakpur Rural Municipality, Deurali Bazaar community building in Ilam, Falgunand Rural Municipality in Panchthar district, Ghurbise Panchami  Secondary School and Shanti Bal Bikas Boarding School in Ghurbise Panchami Bazaar and other places.
