By Dharbendra Jha,Dhanusa, Jan. 7: Madhes Province Chief Hari Shankar Mishra has called upon provincial assembly members and parties to submit the claim for the post of chief minister. Issuing a notice on Friday, Province Chief Mishra has called on provincial assembly members and political parties to show a majority to stake the claim for the post by 4:00 pm on January 12.
As no party has a single majority in the Provincial Assembly, according to Article 168 (2) of the Constitution, the province chief has given a time limit of six days to stake claim for the post with the support of two or more parties in the province. After the Election Commission submitted the election report to the province chief on December 17, it has opened the door to form the provincial government.
Following the call of the provincial chief, political parties are engaged in internal discussions to form the government in the province.
