By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 4: Lumbini Province fixed the final date of the ongoing U-19 National Selection Tournament with Sudur Paschim Province after beating Madhesh Province by 58 runs at T.U International Cricket Stadium, Kathmandu on Saturday.
Lumbini fixed the final date with Sudur Paschim after they sealed their league journey at the second spot with 10 points from six matches they played while Sudur Paschim advanced into the title clash after they ended the summit of the league standing with 12 points from six matches they played.
The tournament was conducted under the single round robin league format and the top two teams will secure their spot at the title clash.
Likewise, with eight points from six matches, host Bagmati ended at the third place while Province No.1 ended their journey at the fourth spot with six points from six matches and an equal two points from six matches Gandaki finished at the fifth place, Karnali sealed their journey at the sixth place and Madhesh ended at the bottom of the tournament respectively. All the bowlers of Lumbini contributed as they bundled out Madhesh Province for just 164 runs in the 45.4 overs.
Avishek Gautam and Bishal Bikram KC grabbed three wickets apiece while Nar Sarki, Durgesh Gupta, Nirmal Gurung and Tul Bahadur Thapa contributed one wicket each to secure their spot at the title clash.
Opener Nayan Yadav scored the highest 38 runs off 45 balls that featured two boundaries and a single six while Sarfraj Mansuri hit 31 runs off 58 balls and Ali Ansari contributed 22 runs off 74 balls.
Earlier, batting first, Lumbini scored 222 runs with the loss of nine wickets in the allocated 50 overs match. Prajjwol Thapa hit superb 85 runs off 128 balls while Nar Sarki added 26 runs off 14 balls and opener Aakash Tripathi delivered 23 runs off 36 balls. Prajjwol was declared the Player of the Match for his remarkable 85 runs off 128 balls.
Nikesh Gupta claimed three wickets while Nitesh Yadav and Abhisekh Tiwari grabbed two wickets each. Similarly, Abjit Mandal also took one wicket for victim Madhesh.
Province No. 1 registered a third victory at the ongoing U-19 National Selection Tournament after registering a seven wickets comfortable victory over Karnali Province at Mulpani International Cricket Stadium, Kathmandu.

Province No. 1 easily chased the target of 153 runs set by Karnali in the 31.3 overs with the loss of just three wickets. Opener Sonu Ansari topped the score with 45 runs off 36 balls while Bhupal Dangal hit unbeaten 42 runs off 61 balls and skipper Dipesh Kandel contributed unbeaten 29 runs off 26 balls.
Yunish Singh and Mohan BK grabbed one wicket apiece for victim Karnali.
Earlier, Karnali scored just 152 runs with the loss of all the wickets in the 43.2 overs. Suwash Ayer scored the highest 47 runs off 67 balls while Mohan BK hit unbeaten 29 runs off 31 balls and opener Manish Thapa scored 26 runs off 23 balls.
Dipesh Kandal and Anish Ojha grabbed three wickets apiece while Abhinaya Rajbanshi, Bipin Mahato, Aswin Mahato and Sandesh Bhattarai contributed one wicket apiece for the winning side.
