NAC plane held for an hour at TIA to arrest an accused

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 3: The Nepal Airlines Corporation plane bound to Mumbai was held after boarding for an hour at the airport to arrest a person.

A special bureau of the Nepal Police held the plane to arrest Santosh Lamichhane of Kailali.

Tek Prasad Rai, the police spokesperson, said that Lamichhnae was flying along with his wife to Mumbai for a tour and that he was arrested at the request of the Kailali police by the special bureau of the police.  

The police had held the plane for an hour in the afternoon today at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) as per the tip it received.

Lamichhane is said to have been involved in gold stealing in Kailali and not in any terrorist activities.

Accused Lamichhane has been kept at metropolitan police range, Gausala, and preparations are underway to send him to Kailali for further investigation, according to the police.
