Minister Yadav not to do Muskan

blog

Kathmandu, July 27: A news report a few days ago had it that Forest and Environment Minister Pradeep Yadav was going to do a film based on life of acid survivor Muskan Khatun.  However, Minister Yadav has now made it clear that he was not doing the movie in lack of time.

On a Facebook post on Monday, Minister Yadav said he was not going to play the movie, but he would support other social works. He also wished a bright future of Khatun.

“My serious attention has been drawn to the issue of the film Muskan and news stories related to this. Some time ago, an offer was made by actor Ramit Dhungana to act in an awareness generating film. Discussions were also held at various stages, but now due to the added responsibilities as a minister, I am lacking time. As a minister of the country,  I would like to make it clear that due to the busy schedule…there is no time to give for the shooting the film,” wrote minister Yadav.

Minister Yadav also objected to the news written without asking his opinion and urged journalists to ask him before writing news about him. Actor Ramit Dhungana also said that Minister Yadav had earlier agreed to shoot the film for four to five days, but due to his ministerial works, he could not arrange the shooting time. It is the first film of Dhungana as a director.

The shooting of the film, which stars Acid Survivor Muskan Khatun in the lead role, is set to begin next month, informed Dhungana.

Dhungana said that there is a plan to include the real footages of many people who helped Khatun after the attack, including CPN (Unified Socialist) chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, in the film.
