Province 1 govt to cooperate with Gorkhapatra: Minister Ghimire

Biratnagar, July 22:  Upendra Prasad Ghimire, Minister of Transportation and Communications of the Province-1, said the provincial government was ready to cooperate with the Gorkhapatra Corporation. 

Stating that the Gorkhapatra daily should focus on publishing news with emphasis on establishing good governance, he said that the provincial government is positive for all kinds of cooperation.

After inspecting the provincial-level publication office of the corporation in Biratnagar on Wednesday, 

Minister Ghimire said that the provincial government has adopted a policy of coordinating and cooperating with the provincial offices of those which functions under the federal government.

Minister Ghimire said he got the information only during the monitoring that the provincial office of Gorkhapatra could publish gazette, legal booklets and other materials.

He assured that the issue would be discussed in the meeting of the Provincial Assembly and the Council of Ministers as it may be appropriate for the government to publish them through government institutions.

In a brief programme held after the monitoring, Sachin Pokharel, a member of the board of directors of the corporation and the coordinator of Province-1, said the provincial office of Gorkhapatra and the provincial government and its subordinate bodies could move forward with positive coordination.
