Kathmandu, July 21: In a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, lawmaker Bhanubhakta Dhakal, demanded that the collection of voters' name lists by the Election Commission should take place from the local level.
Speaking in a zero hour of the lower house today, he
advised the government to collect details of voters from the local level and
distribute a national identity card during the same course.
Meena Subba took time to draw the attention of bodies
concerned towards technical devices which were purchased by the EC and are
presently remaining unused. As she said, 511 laptops, color printers, and advanced
printing machines have remained unused.
Mahesh Basnet urged the government to be serious
about the alleged involvement of unauthorized persons in the budget formulation
process.
Rameshwor Ray Yadav demanded the government declare
Madhesh a dry-hit zone. On one hand, the region is enduring increasing
temperature and on the other hand, farmers are struggling to get water and
fertilizers. The situation has put the zone at risk of hunger, he apprised the
session.
Maya Devi Gyawali, Maina Kumari Bhandari, Mohan
Baniya, Rajendra Prasad Gautam, and Radha Kumari Gyawali drew the government's
attention to its failure to bring fertilizers on time causing inconvenience
