Lalitpur, July 21 : Reconstruction of the Jwala Narsingh Temple, situated on the Patan Durbar premises, has not made headways.
In the lack of timely arrangement of
materials required for the reconstruction of the 2015 earthquake-devastated
temple, uncertainty is looming large for its rebuild.
Chairperson of Mangal Tole
Improvement Association, Kiranman Pradhan complained that the temple's
reconstruction did not make any progress when different types of bricks
imported for the same remained unfit.
"The temple reconstruction
needs more than 100 types of bricks. Even 3-4 types of bricks imported did not
match the rebuild of the antique temple. The imported bricks were also sent back so
as to change size and types to suit the temple. It has delayed the
process", he said.
Over time, the quake-damaged
temple has gone further deteriorated. "Only apparent renovation does not
suffice to revitalize the temple. There is no option to its
reconstruction", Pradhan further said.
In the earlier term, Lalitpur
Metropolis Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan had allocated a budget of Rs 2 million for
the renovation and protection of the temple, shared Association's Secretary
Rabi Darshandhari.
"First we accepted the budget
thinking it was enough for renovation. Due to materials and labor cost over the
time, it was scantly to advance rebuilding process", he said, .
