Palpa, July 15 : The Ribdikot Rural Municipality in the Palpa district has announced to provide education to parentless children for free up to grade 12.
Chairman of the Ribdikot Rural
Municipality, Narayan Bahadur Karki, told the RSS that the local government has
made a policy decision aimed at providing free education to the poor and
parentless students so that they won't have to remain out of school.
The rural municipality is coming up
with the idea as the school enrollment of orphan children and students with
missing parents is low there. In some cases, such children are taking shelter
in their relatives' houses while some others are earning their life on their own
from their tender age.
To implement its decision to
provide education to parentless children, the local government has started
to collect the data of beneficiaries.
According to Chairman Karki, the
program would be started in the upcoming fiscal year. (RSS)
