By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, July 11: Nasir Yahya Hussain and Niva Maskey clinched the double gold medals at the 10th NSA Cup Swimming Championship that kicked off at Satdobato Swimming Complex, Lalitpur on Sunday.
Hussain bagged two gold medals in men’s 200-meter individual and 100-meter freestyle category.
He clocked 02 minutes and 18.59 seconds to complete the 200-meter race in front.
Seren Singh finished at the second spot with a time of 02 minutes and 29.89 seconds. Bikash Kumal was satisfied at the third position after clocking 02 minutes and 34.41 seconds.
Hussain completed his double by clocking 55.81 seconds in the 100-meter freestyle. Anubhav Subba grabbed a silver medal after clocking 58.30 seconds. Subigya ended in third place with a time of 58.37 seconds.
Likewise, Maskey snatched gold medals in women’s 50-meter backstroke and 100-meter freestyle for her double delight.
She timed 35.90 seconds to claim the 50meter race. Royal Prajapati remained at the second spot with a time of 37. 96 seconds and Arya Maharjan kissed the bronze medal by finishing the race at 38.11 seconds.
Maskey completed her double gold medal by beating Duana Lama by 00.1.10 seconds in the final of the 100-meter freestyle. Maskey touched the finishing line in 1 minute and 2.87 seconds while Lama completed her race in 01 minute and 3.78 seconds. Anushiya Tandukar kissed the bronze medal with a time of 01 minute and 5.17 seconds.
Similarly, Duana Lama claimed the individual gold medal in the women's 200 meters after completing her race in 02 minutes and 37.17 seconds.
Maskey trailed in the second place with a time of 02 minutes and 40. 21 seconds. Cyiera Shuvangini Bazaga ended at the third spot.
Tenzing Namdol Ryan Gurung snatched the gold medal in the men's 50-meter backstroke after completing his target in 31.61 seconds. Subba was satisfied with a silver medal after completing his race at 32.42. Gaurav Lama ended at the third spot with a timing of 33.98 seconds.
