TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 26: In the honour of Nepalese citizens who graduated
from various educational institutions in Pakistan, the Embassy of Pakistan
organized an Alumni Get Together at Hyatt Place, Kathmandu.
These graduates were recipients of scholarships
under Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme (PTAP) in MBBS, BDS, D. Pharmacy,
BS Engineering etc.
The
event coincided with celebrations of 75 years of Pakistan’s independence.
Ganesh
Prasad Timilsina, Chairman National Assembly, graced the occasion held on June
25 as the Chief Guest.
In
his remarks on the occasion, Chairman National Assembly recollected the depth
and warmth of Nepal-Pakistan friendly relations and appreciated the support of
Pakistan for Nepal’s development, especially in the field of technical
education, according to the press release issued by the Embassy of Pakistan on
Saturday.
He
also thanked the Government of Pakistan for equipping Nepalese students with
quality education at its renowned educational institutions. He noted that the
students qualified from Pakistan were contributing to the progress of
Nepal with their rich educational experience. Chairman National Assembly
expressed the hope for Pakistan’s continued support in the future as well, read the
press release.
In
his remarks, Ambassador Syed Haider Shah said that the educational scholarships
by Pakistan to Nepalese students reflected the closeness of people-to-people
relations between Pakistan and Nepal.
He
said that Nepalese students made life-long friendships while in Pakistan and
carried with them positive memories all their lives. He also assured of
Pakistan’s continued support for educational scholarships to Nepalese students
in the future as well. He thanked the Alumni for upholding the spirit of serving
humanity.
