Plant Day being marked with various events

Kathmandu, April 12: The 27th Plant Day is being observed at different places across the nation by organizing various events under the slogan 'Plants for Prosperity' today.

The Department of Plant Resources is also celebrating its 66th anniversary in presence of Minister for Forest and Environment, Gita Chaudhary. According to the Department, various programmes including interaction on herbs conservation, research, promotion and commercialization, exhibition and award ceremony are going to be organised on this occasion.

Similarly, sapling plantation, awareness programme, herbs expo and farmer orientation would also be organised at different places of the country.

The Plant Day emphasizes biodiversity conservation, greenery promotion and herbs-based economy.  (RSS)
