Birgunj, June 24: The Birgunj Metropolitan City has released a budget of Rs 3.33 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2022/023 in today's municipal assembly.
Presenting the budget, Deputy Mayor Imtiaz Alam said 62.04 per cent of the total budget has been allocated toward current expenditure and 37.96 per to capital expenditure.
A total of Rs 2.6 billion has been allocated for current expenditure while Rs 1.26 billion is under capital expenditure.
Alam shared that Rs 950 million would be received from the internal income, Rs 1.70 billion from fiscal equalization grant and revenue sharing from the federal government and Rs 79.8 million from fiscal equalization, revenue sharing and a special grant from the Madhes Province Government.
The metropolitan city has also increased the salary of its staff by 15 per cent to be effective from the new fiscal year. (RSS)
