Kedar Ghimire’s Comedy Hub from today

By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, May 25: Comedian Kedar Prasad Ghimire, popularly known as ‘Magne Budha’, is coming up with a new television show Comedy Hub.

The show was announced at a press conference held in the capital on Monday. Ghimire will direct the show.  Famous comedians including Madan Krishna Shrestha and Haribansha Acharya inaugurated the show.

 Speaking at the press meet, veteran comedian Madan Krishna  recalled that he was a singer at the beginning of his career but while singing and doing comedy together, he gained more success in comedy.

Speaking at the programme, Haribansha Acharya said that the duo of him and Madan Krishna Shrestha has been working together for 43 years and the collaboration between them will continue for next seven years.

 Acharya said that now the base of comedy is strong. The comedians of young generation have succeeded in elevating this genre further. He said that comedy has been the best-selling thing in present Nepal.

 Comedy has been preserving Nepali art and culture in the true sense, however, Nepali comedy has to compete with Bollywood, but still it is managing to win the heart of Nepali audience, he added.

He urged all comedians not to make mockery of any person by mentioning their names in any show.

 Speaking at the programme comedian Jitu Nepal ‘Mundre’ said that the habit of watching television has decreased in recent times.

 Comedy actor Deepak Raj Giri said that stand-up comedy has become popular in Nepal recently. 

Comedian Manoj Gajurel said that the purpose of comedy is to give a message of laughter, social message and unity.

Media Hub is going to produce the comedy show taking more than a dozen comedians. Comedy Hub has collaborated with ‘Magne Budha’ and Raja Rajendra.

Eighteen comedians, including comedy champion Himesh Pant, will appear in the show that will be aired on AP1 Television every Wednesday at 8 pm.

Magne Budha, Raja Rajendra Pokhrel, Himesh Pant, Subodh Gautam, Rajendra Nepali ‘Latte’, Januka Poudel ‘Pyakuli’, Dilip Tamang ‘Hurhur’, Khadga Bahadur Pun ‘Khabpu’, Prabhat Lama, Sangam Rai Labli, Naria Giri, Radhika Kandel and others will do the comedy in the show.

Sagar Prdhan is the cinematographer of the show.
