By Our Correspondent Dhangadhi, May 19: Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Trilochan Bhatta has said that the provincial government is ready to collaborate with Gorkhapatra Corporation.
During a meeting with GC General Manager Lal Bahadur Airi on Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhatta said that the provincial government is ready to move ahead together with Gorkhapatra Corporation.
“We are positive to work with the Corporation to inform the readers about our activities and to hear the voices of the people,” he said.
Stating that the province government was facing problems due to lack of its own media, Chief Minister Bhatta said that a grant or partnership agreement could be made with the Corporation.
“The extent to which we can help depends on the situation of our budget,” he said.
“Let’s move forward with grant or partnership agreement, whichever is feasible. Let’s discuss it. We are positive,” he said.
During the meeting, GM Airi said that the corporation was seeking ownership of the provincial government in the publications of the Corporation.
He said that even though the publications of the Corporation, Gorkhapatra daily and online portal have made provision for respecting the feelings of the province, it has been a one-sided process.
“Even though there is a separate page in Gorkhapatra daily to help the province governments, it is one-sided,” he said. “We are seeking ownership of the province government in this,” Airi added.
Airi said that plans are made to give ownership of the province edition of online to the province government immediately.
