Gulmi, Feb 28: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said the party will launch a campaign for establishing good governance by investigating property ownership of party's top leaders.
During his address to an election publicity assembly held at Choyaga, in Gulmi-1 today, he said the party's good governance campaign will start with an investigation into property of party President Gagan Kumar Thapa and former President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
He further said the party membership of party leaders facing the corruption charges will be annulled so as to support the legal investigation into the allegations. "A culture will be established for supporting the law against corruption instead of providing a political protection for leaders alleged of corruption."
He also pledged to reinstate the confidence in the bureaucracy by creating an atmosphere that addresses public needs in a convenient way.
Sharma urged voters to fully use their conscience and exercise franchise, electing candidates with team spirit, competency and expertise. He argued that NC leadership is necessary to bring about and institutionalize changes as demanded by Gen Z people.
NC candidate from the constituency, Chandrakanta Bhandari, said public trust is his real strength and pledged to make every possible effort to facilitate for completing incomplete development projects within the constituency and create jobs for youths provided that voters here elected him as their representative in the federal parliament.
It may be noted that political parties have intensified the election publicity campaign as March 5, the scheduled date for voting under the HoR polls 2026 draws closer. (RSS)
