Comedian ‘Dittha Sab’ now ward member

By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, May 16: Popular comedian and director Kishor Bhandari, popularly known as ‘Dittha Sab’, has been elected a ward member in Tarkeshwor Municipality-2, Kathmandu. 

Bhandari was a candidate of the Nepali Congress for the post.  According to Bhandari, he won the election securing double of the votes secured by his rival candidates.  Bhandari received 1156 votes.  

Bhandari has been active in  entertainment industry  for a long time. He has become popular as 'Dittha Sab' from the tele-serial 'Dittha Sab' which was aired on Kantipur Television. 

Of late, he has been associated with tele-serial Harke Hawaldar. Besides, he has directed and  done a few films. 

He has directed a film Changa.  A permanent resident of Kavresthali, he said that he had raised the issue of education and health during the election campaign.

Talking to The Rising Nepal, he said “Now I have to give more time in ward than in acting.”

In the local level election held on Friday, a few artiste were in fray. Actor Madan Das Shrestha and popular rapper Balen Shah are running for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. 

 Shrestha is the candidate of  Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Shah, who is leading the vote count, is an independent candidate.
