13 dead, 10 injured in Waling jeep accident

By Radha Krishna Dumre, Waling, May 13: At least 13 people have died while 10 others were injured in the jeep accident in Waling.

The accident occurred at Arkhalbas, Waling Municipalit-14 in the Syangja district.

The jeep with registration number Ga 2 Cha 3026 was carrying voters for the local poll which is underway across the country today.

Padam Thapa, Police Inspector at the Syangja district police office, informed that 13 passengers of the jeep were killed while 10 others were injured in the accident.

The police said that the injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The police feared that the number of the dead could increase although additional details are awaited as the rescue is underway.

Of the injured, some are getting treatment at Garhau primary hospital while preparations are underway to take some to Pokhara for further treatment.

The total number of passengers in the ill-fated jeep is yet to be known.
