Worker buried under mudslide rescued alive in Dhankuta

By Kabiraj Ghimire, Hile, March 28: A construction worker has been rescued alive after being buried under a mound of soil while digging the foundation of a house in Parichaya Mode, Dhankuta Municipality–6,  on Saturday morning.

The injured has been identified as approximately 35-year-old Ram Bahadur Tamang, a resident of Dhankuta Municipality–10, Paripaatle. He was working at a house construction site belonging to Suman Shrestha when the incident occurred.

A 35-person rescue team led by Superintendent of Police Sharat Kumar Thapa Chhetri from the District Police Office, Dhankuta, was deployed to the site along with necessary equipment.

 The team managed to remove the soil and rescue Tamang alive but in critical condition.

According to Information Officer Gyan Kumar Mahato, the injured worker was immediately sent to the District Hospital, Dhankuta, for treatment.
