Kathmandu, May 3: Leaders of the five-party ruling alliance has decided to instruct their lower level party organisations to act as per the understanding reached among the coalition parties in the context of the May 13 local level election.
A meeting of the alliance’s internal preparation and monitoring mechanism held at Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday took this decision.
After the meeting, the committee mechanism said in a statement that the ruling parties would direct their respective lower bodies to carry out activities as per the understanding reached among the coalition parties in the places where the rebel candidates have not withdrawn their candidacies and where time for withdrawing the candidacies was not sufficient.
It further decided that coalition would actively fulfil the responsibilities during the election by maintaining mutual unity as per the spirit and sentiment of the present coalition.
The parties in the coalition would take action against their lower units which disobeyed the decisions of the coalition.
