Nepali emerges as cinematographer, actor

He is also actively involved in literature, acting, and cinematography.He is recognised as an unsung hero behind the camera in Nepali art, having filmed more than a thousand music videos. He has worked across genres, including folk, modern, devotional, and contemporary songs.

Some of his popular music videos include ‘Mirga Nayani Aankhako Baanle Bhutukkai,’ ‘Buhari Chahisakyo,’ ‘Phool Phulyo Keshari, and among many others.

He is well known for bringing rural lifestyle, local culture, and natural emotions to life through his camera work, making him a preferred choice for artists and producers.

Alongside his work behind the camera, he has also shown strong skills in acting and directing. His performances can be seen in several episodes of the popular social television series ‘Mapase,’ where he has also contributed as a writer and director. He has also acted in another well-known television series, ‘Maya.’

Recently, he has been focusing more on literature and creative writing. He is particularly interested in humour and satire, using his writing to highlight social issues, human behaviour, and inconsistencies in contemporary politics. He said that he chose this genre because humour and satire easily attract readers’ attention while leaving a lasting impact.

His earlier work includes the humorous and satirical ghazal collection ‘Chheparako Ranga,’ which has already reached readers. Published by Manjari Publication, his satirical novel ‘Thutuno’ has also gained considerable popularity. His writing is known for its simple yet impactful portrayal of everyday absurdities.

His upcoming work ‘Chhakkadau’ is currently in its final stage of publication. Currently based in Kathmandu, he continues to work actively in writing, acting, and cinematography.
