Newly-appointed Education Minister calls on agitating teachers for talks

Indian Embassy hands over sickle cell, thalassemia vaccines to Nepal
The government of India has provided Nepal with vaccines to be used in the treatment of sickle cell anaemia and thalassemia. The first batch of vaccines was delivered to the Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel by India's ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, amidst a programme here on Friday.
Foreign Minister ruled out possibility of govt change
Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Arzu Rana, has said there was no truth in the rumour of a change in the incumbent government. The rumour was spread by a group of people wanting the same, she mentioned. Talking to media persons upon her arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport today after attending a United Nations programme organised in Bangkok of Thailand, Foreign Minister opined, "Now, there is no possibility change in government. It's only a rumour."
'Meta to be banned if not registered within a week'
Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has warned that Meta will be banned in Nepal if not registered within a week. Speaking at the National Information Commission's Programme on Friday, Minister Gurung said that though the government had repeatedly requested to register Meta, it had not followed the Nepal government's request.

Devastating quake leaves Myanmar junta on shaky ground
The March 28 earthquake left Mandalay and the nearby town of Sagaing in ruins. Tremor jolts Sindhupalchowk
Kathmandu, April 25: An earthquake with its epicentre at Phulpingkot of Sindhupalchowk district has been recorded today. The tremor measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale occurred at 11.57 am, according to the Earthquake Measurement and Monitoring Centre, Lainchaur. Earlier, an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale and its epicentre at Ranmamaikot had struck at 7.34 pm last evening in Rukum. (RSS)
NRNA Australia expresses wish for increasing investment in Nepal
Kathmandu, April 25: The Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Australia has apprised Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli that the NRN community in Australia wished to increase investments in Nepal. During a meeting with the Prime Minister last night, NRNA Australia President Anil Pokhrel said the NRNs in Australia longed for investing more in Nepal and they wished to see an increased investment-friendly atmosphere here. Talking to RSS, Pokhrel said the meeting primarily focused on these matters. Matters relating to the contribution of Nepali community to the economy of Australia and of Nepal, the utilisation of the trade and investment promotion framework and the strengthening of the bilateral relations were also discussed during the meeting.
