A CBFIN delegation led by its President Pawan Kumar Golyan on Thursday met with the Prime Minister and briefed him about the policy steps to be taken to improve the current economic situation of the country.

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) exported 178.19 million units of electricity at competitive rates to the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) market and earned Rs. 1.72 billion in June. The NEA has started selling the surplus electricity during the rainy season to the IEX market from June 2 this year. Initially, 39 MW of electricity from two hydropower plants was sold in the IEX market. But since June 10, the NEA started selling 364 MW of electricity daily at a competitive rate to the Indian market, according to NEA.
Buckingham Palace has investigated how staff handled allegations of bullying made against Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex — but the findings will remain private. Palace officials told reporters Wednesday that the details of the independent review were not being released to protect the confidentiality of those who took part. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba Thursday said that the government is committed to holding all periodical elections in time this year. The House of Representatives (HoR) and the provincial assembly election are scheduled to be held in December this year which is the reason the Prime Minister expressed commitment for the timely election as critics were expressing suspicion of a fair and timely election.
The number of suicide cases in Mahottari has increased alarmingly. According to the police, over the last two months, eight people in the district have committed suicide and one has attempted suicide. A total of 229 people have committed suicide in the last two fiscal years, according to the District Police Office, Mahottari. According to the Office, five people have committed suicide and one has attempted suicide by consuming poison within three weeks of this month. Similarly, three people committed suicide in June last year.

The industry is going to be established with a total investment of Rs. 2 billion and production will start within six months.
As mentioned in the Mahakali Treaty singed 26 years ago, Nepal has started getting water for irrigation from the project. On the occasion of National Paddy Day and Paddy Plantation Festival on Wednesday, Chief Minister for Sudurpashchim Province Trilochan Bhatta inaugurated the canal by planting paddy using water from the canal. Inaugurating the canal, CM Bhatta said that the provincial government will not be an obstacle in the development work.
