Govt will hold election in time: PM Deuba
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba Thursday said that the government is committed to holding all periodical elections in time this year. The House of Representatives (HoR) and the provincial assembly election are scheduled to be held in December this year which is the reason the Prime Minister expressed commitment for the timely election as critics were expressing suspicion of a fair and timely election.
Mahottari sees alarming rise in suicide cases
The number of suicide cases in Mahottari has increased alarmingly. According to the police, over the last two months, eight people in the district have committed suicide and one has attempted suicide. A total of 229 people have committed suicide in the last two fiscal years, according to the District Police Office, Mahottari. According to the Office, five people have committed suicide and one has attempted suicide by consuming poison within three weeks of this month. Similarly, three people committed suicide in June last year.
Potato processing plant to be set up at Rs. 2 billion investment
Final preparations are underway to establish the first and biggest automatic potato industry of the country in Rupandehi. The industry which is going to be established in Mainhiya of Suddodhan Rural Municipality will also be suitable to the environment. Popular industrialist Krishna Paudel of Rupandehi is going to establish First Choice Food Pvt Ltd after the success of meat industry. The industry is going to be established with a total investment of Rs. 2 billion and production will start within six months.
26 years after Mahakali treaty, Nepal gets water
As mentioned in the Mahakali Treaty singed 26 years ago, Nepal has started getting water for irrigation from the project. On the occasion of National Paddy Day and Paddy Plantation Festival on Wednesday, Chief Minister for Sudurpashchim Province Trilochan Bhatta inaugurated the canal by planting paddy using water from the canal. Inaugurating the canal, CM Bhatta said that the provincial government will not be an obstacle in the development work.
Jhapa farmers excited to adopt advanced technology
Farmers in Jhapa have been employing advanced technology in farming for a while now. That has resulted in the modernisation of agriculture in the district. Govt will develop film shooting centres in every district: Karki
Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that every sector should work diligently to make Nepal prosperous. Promote Gender Equality In Politics
Democratic politics aims to achieve the twin goals of exercising power as well as achieving justice and equality. Ensuring more meaningful representation of women in politics has been a demand for decades. Chiri Babu Maharjan, who had won by less than 400 votes in the last local election, was re-elected as the mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) this time around by a margin of more than 18,000. Shooting of Ke Ghar Ke Dera concludes
Shooting of the film Ke Ghar Ke Dera directed by Dipendra K Khanal concluded on Tuesday. The shooting of the last scene of the movie completed at Nepal Arts Council in the capital on Tuesday. According to director Khanal, the shooting concluded in 33 days after its shooting began.
