Kathmandu, Apr. 15: Targeting the Nepali New Year, Pahad has been released in cinemas, along with the announcement of the production and release dates of several other films.
Veteran director Tulsi Ghimire’s film ‘Pahad’ was released across Nepal on Tuesday on the occasion of the Nepali New Year.
The film tells the story of unemployment, deserted hills, and the problem of water scarcity. Director and writer Ghimire informed that the film raises contemporary issues of present-day Nepal.
Artists including Madan Krishna Shrestha, Bipin Karki, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Sunil Thapa, Renunath Yogi, Uma Giri, Arun Chhetri, along with debut actress Panchami Ghimire, have acted in the film.
‘Pahad’ also marks the acting debut of director Ghimire’s youngest daughter, Panchami Ghimire. Likewise, in the film’s technical team, director Ghimire’s elder daughter, Bhawana Ghimire, has taken on the responsibility of production designer.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the Nepali New Year, many films have been announced.
Actress Keki Adhikari has announced ‘Station’. The film will be made by the team behind the superhit ‘Boksi Ko Ghar’. Written and directed by Sulakshan Bharati, with Badri Adhikari as producer, the film is set to release on September 4.
Dipak Acharya, the director of the commercially most successful film of 2082, ‘Paran’, has announced his second film, ‘Chiranjivi Bhawa’. He shared the news of his new project on social media on Tuesday.
Similarly, Pooja Sharma has announced the film ‘Ratyauli’. The film will star Bijay Baral alongside Pooja herself. It will be directed by Muskan Dhakal and produced by Suraj Acharya.
Producer Binod Poudel has also announced a new film titled ‘Dui Kinara’. He also announced that he plans to release ‘Dui Kinara’ next year on 14 April 2027.
He is also the producer of the blockbuster ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’. His next film, ‘Roll No. 1’, is set to release on May 29.
Likewise, writer and director Rajbahadur Sane has announced ‘Ganga Rani’. Director Zaun Yonzan has also announced a film titled ‘Bhagwan Chha Ke Chha Guarantee?’.
Likewise, on the occasion of the New Year, the release dates of several films have also been announced.
Jitu Nepal-starrer ‘Karki Saila’ will hit cinemas on July 17.
Similarly, director Maotse Gurung’s film ‘Pension Patta’ is scheduled for release on September 11.
Actor Pushpa Khadka has been signed for the lead role in the much-discussed film ‘Maharajadhiraj’. The production team announced his casting on the occasion of the New Year and also released a special poster for the film.
The film is slated for release during Bijayadashami. A new poster introducing Pushpa was unveiled on Tuesday.
Likewise, the release date of the film ‘Jadau’ has also been announced, along with newly designed posters. The film, jointly directed by Anjan Sharma and Kaji Limbu, will be released on August 28.
