Parliament Secretariat calls all-party meeting

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, April 1: The Federal Parliament Secretariat has called an all-party meeting in preparation for the upcoming parliamentary session. According to Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri, all parties represented in Parliament have been invited to attend the meeting at 1 pm on Wednesday.

“The meeting is expected to discuss the initiation of the process for electing the house Speaker, as well as the presentation and passage of important Acts and bills. Representatives of all national parties are expected to express their views during the meeting,” said Giri.

He added that the Secretariat would finalise and provide the agenda for the first sitting of the House following the all-party meeting.

On Monday, President Ramchandra Paudel convened a joint session of both Houses of the Federal Parliament at 2 pm on April 2, following a recommendation by the Council of Ministers on March 30.
