By Bijay Kumar Sah,Dhalkebar, Mar.20: Praying for world peace and human welfare, an Indian sadhu has begun a pilgrimage from Sultangunj, India, and is heading toward Pashupatinath Temple.
A 60-year-old sadhu, Manoj Yadav, a resident of Jagatpur in Banka district, India, has arrived in the Tulsi area of Mithila Municipality in Dhanusha after a journey of four months and 14 days, covering a distance of about 400 kilometres.
He said that he started this journey with a desire for world peace and the well-being of all humanity, rather than for personal faith. He added, “This is not just my personal faith, but a spiritual effort for the well-being of the entire world.”
The journey is extremely long, during which the traveler lies on the ground, measuring the length of his body, and then moves forward step by step. He said that since only a limited distance can be covered daily using this method, he was able to travel only 400 kilometres in four months.
Sadhu Yadav said that he has been staying at various places during the journey and has been receiving food and rest with the help of local people. Tirtha Karki of the Tulsi area said that although he usually sees devotees traveling short distances to reach temples of gods and goddesses, this is the first time he has witnessed such a long pilgrimage.
