FM Khanal meets heads of financial sector regulators

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 17: Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal held a meeting with the heads of major financial sector regulatory bodies on Monday to discuss issues related to the country’s banking and financial system.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Finance in the presence of Revenue Secretary Bhupal Baral. 

Representatives from key regulatory institutions participated in the discussion, including Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Dr. Biswo Nath Paudel, Chairperson of Nepal Insurance Authority Chandrakala Paudel, and Chairperson of Securities Board of Nepal Santosh Narayan Shrestha.

During the meeting, Finance Minister Khanal expressed his gratitude to the regulatory bodies for their role in maintaining macroeconomic stability, fostering an investment-friendly environment, ensuring transparency in the capital market, and strengthening economic governance.

On the occasion, the heads of the regulatory agencies recalled their productive cooperation with the Finance Minister and appreciated the policies and guidance provided by the Ministry of Finance in promoting the development of Nepal’s banking and financial sector and maintaining financial discipline.

The meeting highlighted the importance of continued coordination between the Ministry of Finance and financial sector regulators to strengthen the country’s financial system and support sustainable economic development.
