Two held with illegal drugs in Sunsari

By Our Correspondent,Inaruwa, Mar. 13: Police have arrested two individuals involved in the buying and selling of illegal drugs in the Dudhbhi Municipality area of Sunsari district.According to the Area Police Office in Duhabi, the suspects were arrested while allegedly trading drugs on the embankment of a canal belonging to the Sunsari-Morang Irrigation Project at Chhatabeli in Ward No. 9 of Duhabi Municipality.

Acting on a special tip-off, a police team from the Area Police Office Duhabi and the BIT unit of the Koshi Province Police Office in Biratnagar arrested 54-year-old Pawan Lal Tharu of Ward No. 3, Gadhi Rural Municipality, and 33-year-old Mohammad Afzal of Ward No. 11, Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City.

During a search, police recovered 5,000 capsules of the banned drug Tramadol and 6,400 tablets of Spaspen from their possession.

Police also seized two motorcycles — Ko 5 Pa 8097 and Ko 11 Pa 2901 — that were allegedly used to transport the drugs.

The suspects, along with the seized drugs and motorcycles, have been taken to the Area Police Office in Duhabi, where further investigation is underway, police said.
