Govt finalises Gen Z movement injured list of 2,660

Kathmandu, May 1: The government has updated and finalised the list of those injured during the Gen Z movement of September 8-9, 2025. 

According to the latest update from the Ministry of Health and Population, 22 additional names have been included. The Ministry had lately received 250 names, of which only 22 met the required criteria, said Dr Prakash Budhathoki, Chief of the Health Emergency Operation Centre.

With this update, the total number of verified injured individuals from the Gen Z movement has reached 2,660.

Of the 250 names recently recommended for recognition, only 22 were approved after verification. The selection process followed the revival of hospital records and certifications from the heads of the respective offices. Those officially recognized as injured in the Gen Z movement are eligible for quotas in education, employment and medical treatment, it is said. (RSS)
