'Eyes to Edge' exhibition concludes

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 12: The international art exhibition ‘Eyes to Edge’ concluded in Kathmandu on Wednesday. The exhibition was organised by the Kochi Fine Art Club, India, in collaboration with the Contemporary Painting Department and the Craft–Handicraft Department of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts.

Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Naradmani Hartamchhali, said that the cultural relationship between Nepal and India has been deep-rooted since ancient times. 

He added that the brotherly ties between the two countries have existed since the Himalayan region and that cultural and artistic connections have been intertwined since the Vedic period, which is significantly reflected in South Asian art.

Indian artist and curator of the exhibition, Manoj V Delhi, expressed happiness at being able to organise the programme in collaboration with the Academy. 

He noted that the programme was effective as many aspects of art and culture between Nepal and India are traditionally similar.

Similarly, the programme coordinator and Head of the Craft–Handicraft Department of the Academy, Aruna Hingmang, said that such exhibitions help promote the exchange of art and culture between the two countries.

Head of the Contemporary Painting Department, Sanjay Bantawa said that collaboration with Kochi has provided further energy and inspiration to organise similar programmes in the future.

The exhibition, featured 30 artworks by artists from Nepal, India and Bangladesh.
