By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 11: ‘Muktipur’, which is being made on a story of revenge, was officially launched on Tuesday.
The film will feature Najir Husen, Gaurav Pahari, Prakash Shah, Evanraj Upreti and actress Aakriti Budhathoki in lead roles.
Aakriti Budhathoki will make her silver-screen debut as an actress through this film.
Shooting also began on Tuesday after performing a clap and script worship at the Indrayani Temple in Basundhara, Kathmandu. The production team, cast and technicians were present at the auspicious occasion.
The film will be directed by Sunil Pandey and produced under the banner of Sahiba Films Production in collaboration with Everest Film Academy.
Pandey, who has experience directing several short films and documentaries, will have directorial debut on the big screen in Muktipur. The story of the film has also been written by Pandey himself.
Everest Film Academy, one of the leading institutions in the film sector that has been providing education in acting, directing, editing, cinematography and sound for the past ten years, is stepping into film production for the first time.
The film is produced by Bijay Rajbanshi and Roshan Paswan, with Bishal Shrestha as executive producer and Keshav Gautam as co-producer.
The crime-revenge genre film will revolve around a story of retaliation.
Actor Husen expressed confidence that Muktipur will be an important milestone in his career.
Budhathoki, who has experience of acting in music videos, said she is excited about performing on the big screen.
The film has gone on the floor with a 40-day shooting schedule, while its release date has not yet been finalised.
