Kathmandu, March 9: The Election Commission has updated that the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) secured victory in 124 constituencies, standing atop the vote count following the March 5 House of Representatives election.
The vote count updated at 1:00 pm showed the Nepali Congress is in the second spot with a huge margin- 17 victories, while it is trailed by CPN UML with 8 victories. The RSP, NC and UML candidates are leading in one constituency each.
The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) secured seven victories, while it is trailed by Shram Shanskriti Party with 3 victories. The Rastriya Prajantantra Party (RPP) and an independent candidate won the election with one seat each.
Under the proportional representation vote count which is also going on, RSP has topped with over 4.1 million votes, while it is followed by NC with over 1.3 million votes, UML with over 1.1 million votes, NCP with over 614 thousand votes and Shram Sanskriti Party with over 300 votes. (RSS)
