Injured ward chair Rabindra Shahi (Guddu)

By Nirajan Pariyar, Kailali, March 5: Rabindra Shahi (Guddu), the ward chair, got assaulted near the Shankar Basic School polling center located in Godawari Municipality–10 under Kailali Constituency-4 in Kailali District.

The attack reportedly occurred during a dispute outside the polling center while he was on his way to vote.

According to a spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kailali, and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Yogendra Timilsina, Shahi sustained a head injury in the incident.

Shahi is a ward chairperson elected from the Nepali Congress. It has been alleged that a group led by Ram Bhandari, the ward chairperson candidate from CPN (UML), threw stones during the incident.

Police said that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
