By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 5: Prime Minister Sushila Karki will cast her vote for the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Kathmandu-5. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, she will vote at a polling centre located in a school in Dhapasi Heights, Kathmandu-5.
Likewise, President Ramchandra Paudel and Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav will remain neutral and will not cast their votes, as the Constitution does not permit them to participate in voting.
Several high-profile candidates from various political parties will also be unable to vote for themselves because they are registered as voters in different constituencies.
CPN-UML chairman KP Sharma Oli, who is contesting from Jhapa-5, will cast his vote at Mahendra Shanti School in Balkot, which falls under Bhaktapur-2, making him unable to vote for himself.
Similarly, Nepali Congress president Gagan Thapa, a candidate from Sarlahi-4, will vote at a polling centre near Maitidevi Temple in Kathmandu-4. He will also not be able to vote for his own candidacy.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal, coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) and candidate from Rukum East, will cast his vote at the Nepal Police Shantipur Centre in Bharatpur-14, Chitwan-3. He is also unable to vote for himself.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) president Rabi Lamichhane, who is contesting from Chitwan-2, will vote at Upatyaka Khanipani Limited in Mahankalchaur, Kathmandu-3.
Senior RSP leader and former Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah will cast his vote at Annapurna English School in Sinamangal, Kathmandu-2. As he is a candidate from Jhapa-5 but registered as a voter in Kathmandu-2, he too will not be able to vote for himself.
