Birat's 'General Election 2015' with details about first democratic election in Nepal hits market

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, March 4: A book furnished with details about the first ever democratic election of the multi-party parliamentary system held in Nepal in 2015 BS has hit the book stores  in the market.

Entitled 'Philo Aam Nirwachan 2015 ( first general election 2015 BS), the book provides a clear reflection of the democratic election held about seven decades ago when the Nepali Congress got two-third majority and the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) stood as the fourth largest party.

Authored by an eminent journalist Birat Anupam, the book published on March 3 also dwells on victory about independent candidates with ‘bell’ as election symbol. 

Journalism and Mass Communication Media Department head of Ratna Rajya Campus, Dr Jagat Nepal, and publisher of the book Bhupendra Khadka launched the book jointly amidst a formal function where they endorsed the book as a most worth reading material.

The book, which details the nitty-gritty of the first general election, got released during the silent period of the ninth multi-party parliamentary general election being held on March 5, 2026.  

On the book releasing ceremony, Dr Nepal, who is also the author of the book "Pahilo Sansad" (first parliament), said that the book included the details which he had not found before.

The author has included a complete details of election manifesto of all the winner parties of the first ever general election of 2015 B.S, election symbol of the main parties, election pamphlets and posters. 

Author Anupam informed that the book is written talking with booth representatives of the Congress in the first general election, Tyonath Bhattrati, independent candidate Dharmaraj Dhakal, voter Somnath Bastola, Ramesh Nath Pandey, who had reported in the first general election as a journalist and candidate of the first general election, Mohan Bikram Singh.
