By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 4: Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal visited the injured victims of Monday’s road accident in Ramechhap to assess their condition and receive their health updates.
The minister, accompanied by government officials from the Ministry, went to the Military Hospital in Chhauni and interacted directly with patients undergoing treatment.
The accident, which occurred on March 2 in Sirubari, Ramechhap Municipality–2, claimed two lives and left seven others injured.
The injured were rescued and are currently receiving treatment at the Chhauni-based Military Hospital. The vehicle involved was carrying election personnel and security staff to polling centres as part of preparations for the upcoming elections.
During the visit, Minister Aryal expressed his wish for the injured to recover quickly and assured that the government would ensure there were no deficiencies in their medical care. Alongside the minister, high-ranking officials, including Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha and Spokesperson and Joint Secretary Ananda Kafle, also visited the hospital.
According to Dr. Namrata Mahara, Brigadier General of the Nepali Army at Chhauni Hospital, one of the injured, Puja Sunuwar, is receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The remaining six, Bhim Bahadur Manandhar, Kedar Kumar Roka, Durga Karki, Krishna Prasad Ghimire, Sabina Khadka, and Samar Bahadur Manandhar, are being treated in the medical ward. Of the injured, four are women and three are men.
The vehicle, marked Na. 7 Kha 6768, carrying election officials and security personnel along with ballot papers and other election materials to polling centres at Sitaladevi Secondary School, Sirubari (K), (Kha), and Ward Office, Sanghutar (K) and (Kha), fell approximately 100 metres off the road.
Police confirmed that two people, election officer Dor Prasad Ghimire and Assistant Inspector of Nepal Police Parshuram Yadav, lost their lives in the accident. A total of 11 people were on board the vehicle.
