Patan (Lalitpur), Feb 6: Political analyst Khagendra Sangraula has said it was the Nepali Congress (NC) playing a leading role in ensuring civil rights in the country.

At a dialogue organized by the NC on 'NC in Non-NC's Eyes' at party central office, Sanepa on Friday, analyst Sangraula reminded that NC had emerged even before the establishment of civil rights. He further said NC did not comprise civil rights for political interest.

"It was leadership of NC to achieve civil rights and democracy. NC has the tradition of democratic practice and dissenting voice onboard reflecting its liberal character, he stressed, however, arguing that it would depend on the new leadership how it delivers.

Moreover, Sangraula said the change in NC under the leadership of Gagan and Bishwoprakash (NC General Secretaries) is the aftershock of Gen Z movement. "I need regarding Gagan and Bishwoprakash as gurus in politics," the leftist critic said, adding that NC has become new political force with their progressive endeavour.
