Damauli (Tanahu), Jan 30: The Nepali Army (NA) claimed all top three positions in the Byas Ultra Marathon organized by the Byas Municipality in Tanahu district marking the Martyrs Day today.
In the 44-km race stretching from Manungkot in ward no 5 in the municipality to Pulimarang in ward no 8, runner Karan Rawal of Bajhang district secured the first position, according to the organizer.
He covered the distance in 2 hours, 48 minutes and 27 seconds.
Likewise, Tilak Bahadur Sunuwar of Ramechhap district finished second with the time of 2 hours and 58 minutes.
Similarly, Homlal Shrestha from the same district came third completing the race in 3 hours and 4 minutes, said the organizer.
Winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs 85,000 for first place, Rs 65,000 for second place and Rs 55,082 for third place.
The ultra marathon route passed through Manungkot Siddamarga, Alaiche-Chapaghat-Ansan Chautari-Safasadak-Bhorletar Chowk- Baireni-Dumsi-Kalesti-Pathra-Satrasaya-Baniya Dihi-Barchali-Sotibeshi-Baguwa Risti-Bahun Pokhara before finishing at Pulimarang. (RSS)
