Kathmandu, Jan 30: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has stated that the dreams of the martyrs could be fulfilled only through the rule of law, people-accounted State and diligent citizens.

In a message on the occasion of the Martyrs Day today, the RSP paid tributes to the martyrs and expressed it hopes that may this Day inspire unity in the journey towards good-governance and prosperity.

The party noted that the martyrs' sacrifices were not only for political changes but also for good-governance, justice and prosperity.

Through the message, party Vice-President Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal asserted that the RSP understands the upcoming March 5 election to House of Representatives as the starting point for new hope and emergence of a new leadership.

The party, on the occasion, remembered all known and unknown martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives in the struggle against the autocratic Rana regime as well as for the political movements, people's right and social justice.

The RSP argued the true respect for the martyrs would lie in upholding national dignity, unity and meaningfully addressing the aspirations of the people.

The Martyr Day is being observed nationwide today with various programmes.

The Day commemorates the sacrifices and devotion of martyrs- Shukra Raj Shastri, Dharma Bhakta Mathema, Dasharath Chand and Ganga Lal Shrestha- as well as the contributions of other martyrs to establishment of democracy in the country.  (RSS)
