By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 26: The benchmark of share market index, NEPSE, has posted a significant growth on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
The NEPSE increased by 57.55 points (2.12 per cent) and closed at 2,772.17 points on Sunday.
The NEPSE index had increased by 9.23 points on Thursday last week.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of group ‘A’ companies also increased by 8.05 points to close at 473.48 points.
The sub-indices of all groups increased in today's transaction.
Sub-index of the manufacturing and processing group saw the highest growth of 275.29 points followed by the life insurance and hotels and tourism group whose indices increased by 268.68 points and 247.25 points respectively.
Similarly, sub-index of non-life insurance group increased by 220.75 points, development bank by 99.09 points, hydropower by 95.99 points and microfinance by 81.10 points.
Similarly, the sub-index of trading group went up by 56.93 points, finance by 45.29 points and others by 37.96 points.
The sub-index of banking group posted a growth of 24.91 points, investment by 2.99 points and mutual fund by 0.20 points.The daily turnover has increased on Sunday as compared to the transaction last Thursday.
A total of 30,915,183 shares worth Rs. 13.78 billion of 331 companies were bought and sold in 133,529 transactions today. On Thursday last week, a total 17,823,333 shares worth Rs. 9 billion had been bought and sold.
The share prices of 275 companies increased while the share prices of 47 companies decreased in today’s transaction.
On Sunday, share prices of eight companies, including SY Panel Nepal, Shreenagar Agritech Industries, Nepal Micro Insurance Company, Bandipur Cablecar and Tourism, Him Star Urja Company, Mabilung Energy, Reliance Finance and Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company increased by 10 per cent each.
Similarly, the share price of Trishuli Jal Vidhyut Company increased by 9.98 per cent, Crest Micro Life Insurance by 9.93 per cent and Nepal Warehousing Company by 9.84 per cent.
However, share price of Everest Bank Limited Debenture 2085 decreased by 5.80 per cent, Excel Development Bank by 4.94 per cent and Corporate Development Bank by 3.96 per cent.
