By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May. 3: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has called its secretariat meeting for Sunday.
A notice issued today said the secretariat meeting is scheduled to be held at party central office at Banasthali on Sunday.
“All the party secretariat members have been requested to attend the meeting with instructions. It is understood that the meeting has been called to discuss the party's latest strategy and contemporary political issues,” stated the statement released by RSP.
The agenda of the meeing include outline of local level candidate selection, general convention procedurs, and amendment to the parliamentary party statute.
Meanwhile, RSP has expressed grief over the Rolpa jeep accident that occurred last Thursday. Spokesperson Manish Jha issued a statement expressing grief over the accident.
“RSP expresses its deepest condolences to all those who lost their lives in the jeep accident, while travelling from Rukum East to Jaljala of Thawang Rural Municipality in Rolpa district. This is a painful incident, which claimed so many human lives at once, has left us shocked and heartbroken,” the statement read.
The party also expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members of the victims, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The statement further stated that the party highly respected the courage, dedication and humanity shown by the security forces and rescue team despite difficult geographical conditions and challenges.
“The tragic incident has once again raised serious questions about the state of our road safety. We are aware that such accidents are not just statistics, but sensitive realities linked to the lives of our citizens,” the party statement said.
“We are concerned that such incidents leave families and communities in long-term pain. We will be with you in such situation. The party epresses its commitment to move forward with policy reforms, strict implementation of road discipline, and necessary infrastructure development to reduce vehicle accidents and prevent a recurrence of such tragic incidents in the coming days.”
