By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 16: Officiating Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has said that the Election Commission will not make decisions that go beyond established legal procedures and systems.
He made this remark on Friday morning while speaking to leaders and cadres from the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led faction of the Nepali Congress who had arrived at the Election Commission.
He said, “The Election Commission conducts its analysis within the framework of the Constitution, acts, and laws. It does not make decisions outside legal procedures and established practices. The Commission believes that the party will participate in the activities scheduled under the election timetable.”
Meanwhile, the Deuba faction has submitted evidence to the Election Commission showing that 885 individuals who had signed in support of a special general convention have withdrawn their signatures.
A team led by Acting President of NC Purna Bahadur Khadka, which arrived at the Commission along with party members, submitted applications along with proof of the signature withdrawals to Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari.
