Minister Kharel asks Gorkhapatra Corporation to work in favour of nation

Kathmandu, Jan 14: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, has directed the leadership of the Gorkhapatra Corporation to work responsibly in favour of the country and people.     

Handing over an appointment letter to the newly appointed chairperson of the Gorkhapatra Corporation, Govinda Bhandari (Akhanda), at the Ministry on Wednesday, Minister Kharel asked him to work in a way the Corporation strengthens Gorkhapatra's prestige. Minister Kharel expressed the belief that Bhandari would carry out activities in favour of the nation and people by fulfilling the responsibility of the historic institution of Nepali journalism.     

Gorkhapatra Corporation's work should assisting in maintaining good governance, controlling corruption and making election successful as per the sentiments and aspiration of the people's movement and government, he reminded, expressing commitment that the government would provide all possible support for this purpose.     

Similarly, the newly appointed chairperson Bhandari mentioned that he, as the chairperson of the institution with a proud history, would devote to improving the institution.     

Ministry Secretary Radhika Aryal also wished the newly appointed chairperson Bhandari a successful term. A Cabinet meeting held on January 12 had appointed Bhandari as the chairperson of the Gorkhapatra Corporation.(RSS)
