One arrested with 57,000 US dollars from Khurkot

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 14: Police have tightened security on the highway following a robbery at the SBI Bank in Ghanglekh Rural Municipality of Sindhuli district.

A robbery took place at the Hayutar branch of  Nepal SBI Bank, of Bastipur, Ghyanglekh-2, on Tuesday night.

A group of five or six people had looted Rs. 31 million 95 thousand, two hundred and eighty three from the bank.

Meanwhile, a joint team of the police and the Armed Police Force arrested Yubaraj Newar with US dollar 57,000 (approximately Nepali rupees 8 million) during a check in Khurkot.

Police said the amount was recovered while inspecting a Sumo vehicle heading from Sindhuli to Jhapa.

Sumo driver Bikram Limbu has also been taken into custody and is being questioned for further investigation related to the incident.
