Ward chair arrested for citizenship fraud

By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, Dec 29: Police have arrested Ward Chair of Malangwa Municipality-7, Sarlahi, Isha Mikarani on Sunday.

DSP of the District Police Office, Saroj Rai, also the spokesperson of the station, said that Mikarani has been arrested in connection with the citizenship offense. 

Ward Chair Mikarani was taken into custody by the police on Sunday afternoon for an investigation into the crime of granting citizenship to Rambishwas Raya based on false information.

DSP Rai stated that the investigation has progressed after the Sarlahi District Court extended Mikarani's remand by two days on Sunday.

The District Administration Office, Sarlahi, had issued instructions on May 5 to arrest and investigate the involvement of Ward Chair Mikrani in line with issuing citizenship based on false information.
