By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, Dec 26: Tension has erupted in Jutpani, Lalbandi Municipality-2, Sarlahi, on Friday afternoon after an elderly man got killed after being hit by a truck along the Nawalpur– Malangwa road.
Ward chair Kiran Kumar Paswan said that 69-year-old Minduk Dorje Lopchan of Lalbandi Municipality-2 was returning home on a bicycle after dropping off a lunch for his granddaughter at her school when he was struck by a truck (Na 7 Kha 7369) en route from Nawalpur towards Malangwa near the boarding School in Jutpani.
Locals reportedly hurled stones at the truck following the accident.
The body of the deceased remains on the scene.
Police Inspector Birendra Singh Johari, chief of the Lalbandi Police Station, said that police are collecting necessary evidence and preparing reports.
Many security personnel have been deployed at the accident location.
The truck involved in the collision remains at the scene.
