One dead, 16 hurt in Arghakhanchi jeep accident

Arghakhanchi, Dec 26: One person died and 16 others were injured when a jeep carrying school students met with an accident in Bhumikasthan Municipality, Arghakhanchi.

The deceased is jeep driver Rudra Bahadur Budha Magar, 45, of Bhumikasthan-10. The jeep, carrying students of the local Janajagriti Secondary School, was en route to Nuwakot in the district when it met with the accident near the Chhiriling stream in Bhumikasthan-7.

All the injured are being treated at Arghakhanchi Hospital. The students were heading to watch the local-level President Running Shield sports competition. Following the accident, all matches in the tournament have been cancelled, the local government said. (RSS)
